Council Activities

  • Following the student council elections, an Investiture Ceremony for the newly appointed student representatives for the academic year 2023-24 took place on 5 August 2023. This was followed by an induction session titled “Building Leaders through Student Council to instill leadership qualities. Resource Person: Mr. Devanand Velingkar.
  • Organized an Interclass Patriotic Singing Competition and Rangoli Competition on 14 and 15 August 2023, respectively, as part of the college’s Independence Day celebrations. These competitions provide students with a platform to showcase their talents and promote patriotism and cultural richness.
  • Organized an interclass Ghumat Aarti competition 19 August 2023.
  • On 5 September 2023, the teachers were honored and felicitated on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. The formal event was followed by a cultural program put together by the students for their teachers wherein several dances, songs and games were lovingly curated.
  • On 11 September 2023, the Students’ Council organised Ghumat Swar, an inter-collegiate Ghumat Aarti competition, at Big Bee Hall, Tamsule, Marcela-Goa.A total of 11 colleges participated from across Goa. DM’s College, Mapusa won the 1st place; GEC College, Farmagudi, came 2nd; while, Goa Music College, Panjim came 3rd. A consolation prize was awarded to Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Bambolim, Goa.
  • Organized its annual inter-class fest, Jubilations, on 16, 18, 20 and 21 December 2024. Students participated in a wide variety of competitions including tug of war, treasure hunt, clay modelling, stand-up comedy, face painting, FIFA, junkyard jugalbandi, duo singing, group dance, reel making, skit, fashion show, etc.
  • In collaboration with the faculty of the college, organized the annual prize distribution ceremony, where meritorious students were awarded prizes for their outstanding performances in different subjects on 19 December 2023.
  • Organised a farewell for the Third-Year students on 6 April 2024.
  • Through the Students’ Council, the students of the institution showcased their talents and skills in a number of intercollegiate cultural fests and state-level competitions like Anantara, K-OSS, Parambh, Xtravaganza, Phoenix, Creations, They brought honour and prestige to the institution by winning prizes in multiple competitions. The students of the college secured the 3rd place at Anantara, organised by Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics Margao. They were the runners up in Creations, the intercollegiate fest of DCT Dhempe College of Arts and Science Miramar-Panjim; they also won the runners up trophy at Parambh, organised by GVM College of Commerce and Economics, Ponda. They also won prizes at the Intercollegiate Ghumat Aarti Competition and the 20th State Youth Festival.

The achievements of the Student Council have enriched the cultural fabric of the institution and instilled a sense of pride and unity among students. Moving forward, the Student Council remains committed to fostering a supportive environment that enables students to grow, excel and shine.
