The Department of Commerce for the benefit of final year Commerce students arranged a ‘Visit to SEBI” program, they participated in a seminar by Securities and Exchange Board of India at their office at 6th floor, EDC House, Panaji, Goa on 9th March, 2017.
This seminar created awareness among Commerce students about the following things:
- Understanding investment basics (power of compounding, risk & return, investment principles)
- Awareness about the Securities market and various Regulatory bodies
- Awareness about investments in shares/securities/debt/mutual funds/gold etc
- Awareness about the Collective Investment Schemes/Chain marketing schemes/Ponzi schemes etc.
C.A. Anand Tendolkar. Manager, SEBI was the resource person. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr S.V.Sukthankar Associate Professor & Head Dept of Commerce. 62 students of final year commerce participated in the seminar. The students were accompanied by Ranjana Sawaikar Asst Prof In commerce.
