This year, the First and Second Year students have a vast array of courses to choose from. These courses have been offered by our Institution as per Goa University and UGC Guidelines for the National Education Policy 2020. NEP 2020 seeks to transform Higher Education by providing flexibility to students in terms of choice of subjects to study and academic pathways. Students will be able to choose from a variety of majors, minors, multidisciplinary, ability enhancement, skill enhancement and value added courses. This will remove the rigid boundaries between disciplines and create new possibilities for students to choose and

learn the subjects of their choice The creative combination of disciplines is further enhanced by multiple entry and exit points.

The undergraduate degree will now be of either a three- or four-year duration, with multiple entry and exit options within this period, with appropriate certifications.

This institution promotes growth of studies in Pure Sciences, Languages, Humanities and Commerce along with Sports, Curricular and Co-curricular activities. Our institution aims at boosting the scientific temperament and professional ethics which will mould students to grow up to their potential and lead a successful life. IGNOU and Certificate/ Diploma courses in Sanskrit language hosted by this institution will further provide opportunity for distance learning recipient and aspirant community. NSS and NCC Unit will enrich the young minds which will encourage them to demonstrate disciplined and responsible behaviour in the society.

Library

Govt. College of Arts, Science and Commerce Khandola Library is equipped to meet the essential academic needs of its users (students & faculties).

At present the Library has a collection of 29047 Books, 2848 Books under Book Bank and 156 volumes of bound journals. Apart from books for general reading, the Library subscribes to 14 Journals (National and International), 13 Magazines, 10 Newspapers, 1213 Project Reports. The Library also offer access to general reference materials like the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Encyclopaedia of Science and Technology, World Book of Encyclopaedia, Konkani Vishwa Kosha, Marathi Vishwa Kosha. Dictionary of different subjects and general. Library collection includes books on Arts, Science & Commerce subjects. Besides Local History, Culture, Tradition, Education, Carrier Guidance, Physical Education, Library Science, Cookery, Tourism, Health and diseases, Rare collection on English literature. The College has membership of N-List from INFLIBNET (UGC). Teachers and students can access-31, 35,000 – e-books and 6000 + e-journals. Library is well automated KOHA Library Management Software.

2	Property counter	Properties counter facility to its users to deposit their bags before entering the library. But they are advised.
3	Reading Hall	Library has a reading hall with the seating capacity of 100 users. It also has a separate cluster research centre room for research students.
4	Reprographic Service	Reprographic Service is provided on payment of Rs.0.50 paisa per page.
5	Internet	Library is well connected with Wi-Fi Facility
6	User Orientation	Newly enrolled students are made aware about the various facilities provided by the college library every year during orientation program. The students are trained in searching the books/ OPAC in the college library by the library staff.
7	Book Bank	The library has a rich collection of around 2684 books in book bank section. The books are procured in the book bank strictly keeping in view demand of the student. The book bank scheme is available only to students with low family income. It renders services to students by providing maximum 4 6textbook of their choice for full academic year.
8	Book Demand	Students are allowed to place book reservation for books which generally remains under issue.
9	Current Awareness Service	Library provide various services like CAS, SDI, Newspaper clippings, Reference services, syllabus, Inter library loan.
10	Special facilities for physically disabled	As the library is located on 1^st floor, the library staff provides special service to such students i.e. door steps of the college.
11	Reading Materials	Print collection : – Textbook – Reference books – Journals and Magazines – Question papers – Project reports – Newspapers E-Resources: (Non-print collection) College has a membership of N-LIST (INFLIBNET) wherein large number of e-resources such as e-books and e-journals can be accessed. 12	Book Lending	Library books are issued for home reading for a period of 7 days.
